The view from my window

December 6th, 2008 in bird watching | Comments Off

Most of the song birds have flown south for the winter. The sparrows and cardinals are still feasting on the sunflower seeds and suet cakes.

And I’m the local eating establishment for several squirrels.  I have three native pecan trees, carefully transplanted from the home place in east central Oklahoma. All three were heavy with green pecans. The squirrels managed to get everyone of the pecans again this season.

Anyone know how to keep squirrels out of pecan trees?
