Historical Matters Press is the publication division of Historical Matters.com and is dedicated to the dissemination of Kansas original records.

"Genealogical Research in Kansas" orginally printed in the National Genealogical Society Quarterly, Volume 92, No. 2, June 2004, pages 119-142. Limited copies of this original NGSQ article are available from the author for $15.00 postage paid.

In the planning stages are:

  • WPA Pioneer Narratives for North Central Kansas. These interviews, conducted in the late 1930s contain genealogical gems from the oldest members of communities in 14 North Central counties.
  • An 1890 census of Salina, Kansas, reconstructed from public records.
  • Kansas Poor Farms Inmates, extracted from extant county and census records.
  • Salina Kansas Vital Records, 1883-1911 and 1911-1930.
  • Gypsum Hill Burial Register, Salina, Kansas, 1898-1930. Gypsum Hill is the municipal cemetery for Salina.
